What LBSA PD Encompasses
1
Prof. Development Workshops
From LinkedIn to resumes to breaking into consulting, the PD committee works hard to host workshops on a variety of different topics. Planned and executed internally, PD workshops are different from external sponsor workshops in the way that they are hosted for the purpose of creating confident, career-ready young adults. They help lay strong foundations of industry knowledge and confidence in personal abilities.
2
Free Professional Headshots
Once a semester, the PD committee hosts a headshot event where general members can come and take a free professional headshot. Headshots are important for any young professional, as they are often the first impression an employer has regarding your physical appearance. We aim to ensure every LBSAer feels confident in their physical presence and even host business attire clothing drives to ensure members have the right gear.
3
Weekly PD Newsletter
Once a week, the PD committee sends out a newsletter containing internship opportunities, full-time recruitment timelines, and companies offering other professional opportunities. Most of the listed opportunities give UC Berkeley students priority recruitment and place an emphasis on URM/BIPOC identities. We even highlight non-business-related opportunities, like those in tech, healthcare, retail, and even entertainment, for example.
